summer with nature spirits

Couple of days ago, I was driving with my bicycle through Finnish summer night on my way to home. It's August (time of Lughnasadh again, I realised I have not written here during whole year!) and nature is very plentiful again. Hays and weeds are ripening, getting yellow, earth is preparing all kinds of gifts. I stopped for a moment to enjoy the summer night. I sensed unbeliavable amount of different fragrances and all kinds of nature's sounds. I felt that I was transferred in to the center of whole universe.

What a pity that we modern people do not stop more often to sense what Mother Earth has prepared us during the year. We are very busy, of course, and our interests are nowadays concentrated mainly on what television and social media has to offer (if you read this, stop for a while and go out to nature and just stand there for few minutes and you will surely notice the difference).

During this year, I've studied a lot of things about about characters of nature spirits and elementals and the different ways on how to approach them. It's been said that if one is very patient, the world of them lets you nearer and also may approach you. This is what I've exercisend and then really felt during this summer. When trying to approach the spirit of the place or nature spirits (or whatever nature's spiritual side you may want to be nearer) it's important just to 'make friends' with them. This does not mean strange invocation rituals or reading ancient texts. Simply, if you have a garden or favourite natural place, go there and try, really try, to sense the invisible. If you feel something, be friendly to it. Invite it to your life. Do this often and remember to be unselfish. During this summer, I have had very strong connection especially with water and its undines. It's been a very hot July in Finland and, of course, I have swam a lot with my family in sea, lakes and rivers.

Below, couple of pictures I took during the summer. In some of those pictures, I have recognized again something unusual, maybe nature spirits are sneaking in to my pictures, too.
